Pray for our friends in Hawaii

Post by Eva »

Some of you may be aware that a dangerous Category 5 Hurricane Lane is approaching the Hawaii Islands (https://www.news.com.au/world/category- ... 164365bdb2). I pray that our DL friends there, and everyone, be protected and that the hurricane gets significantly downgraded before making landfall -- or avoids land altogether. (This happened in our state north of us a few years ago, so it is possible.)

Love and prayers,
Eva

Just spoke to Jimbeau. At the moment its heading for the Big Island, but Jimbeau on Oahu is going to get some weather. He tried to buy bottled water yesterday, but its all sold out. So he is stocking up as best he can. As his apartment is right on the beach, if they get a direct hit it certainly will wipe out the car park, and could do a lot of damage.

Yah, it looks like Oahu will avoid the worst of it but anything is possible. Keep praying for our friends in Hawaii and it looks like the Big Island will have to endure another crisis. They certainly could use our prayers. God bless......Al

As Jimbeau and Michael are on the north side they may be spared some but Gilda is on the southern shores and so will get the direct hit.

Here is a more current forecast of the hurricane's movement over the next day or two: https://weather.com/safety/hurricane/ne ... ast-hawaii

Prayer still very much needed!

Here is an up-to-date Hawaii report with several short videos: https://weather.com/safety/hurricane/ne ... ast-hawaii. Lane is a very slow moving storm potentially dumping over 30" of rain over the whole area. It will be closest to Oahu/Honolulu today and the next day of two. :(

Love and prayers,

Many thanks to everyone for their prayers.
The hurricane has been downgraded to a tropical storm. We should see some high winds and rain, but not the hurricane force winds. The biggest threat is flooding and landslides since the storm is moving so slow. At one point the forecast showed the hurricane going heading directly to Oahu, so this is good news.
Blessings and love to everyone,
Michael

Hi Susan,
I know that Michael, Carolyn and Jimbeau were fine on the north-east side of Oahu -- despite the originally very threatening situation. Michael and Carolyn didn't even experience a storm, just some rain, so God really intervened in amazing ways.
Thank you for your concern.
Love,
Eva
