Post by jeanne »

Today Al and I hosted our Second Annual General Meeting for the Divine Love Sanctuary Foundation! Every one of our esteemed board members stood for re-election and were acclaimed, as: Al - President; Leslie - V.P.; Jeanne (that would be ME) - Secretary; Andrew - Treasurer; Directors at Large: Terry, Barb, Jane, Judy, Betty and Geoff.

Al's report as President was celebrated (here is a copy):

Dear members:

The past year for DLSF has been an extraordinary year of growth and expansion on all fronts. Jeanne and I have been busy on several trips as outreach for the organization. We have visited Australia, England and Ireland, New York state, Los Angeles, Arizona and Seattle. These outreach efforts have facilitated connections with many key members of the Divine Love movement and brought greater interest in the efforts that DLSF is making to bring the awareness of Divine Love around the world. We have also sponsored several members to visit with us and many of our board members both here on the Sunshine Coast and in Vancouver.

Our greatest achievement last year was to sponsor and facilitate our Divine Love retreat in Blackpool, England. Our invitation to hold this gathering at the WHC centre by their board of trustees was a great success and helped us to connect with their membership and DL followers from four continents; Europe North America, Africa and Australia. In all, 50 attendees enjoyed our retreat and are eager for more such gatherings. Surprisingly, the trustees of the centre have invited Jeanne and I to have a greater role in running this centre. More negotiations will take place in 2014. It looks very promising for a greater expansion of our work in this part of the world in the coming year.

A major component of our outreach has been the establishment of our Divine Love Sanctuary web page and forum. The site receives hundreds of hits each month and the forum has the highest usage rate of any DL forum in the world. We have doubled our membership in the forum this year to 98 with more coming on line every week. The forum is by far the most popular aspect of the site with almost 4,000 posts on about 400 topics. Statistics indicate that most who log on to this site veral minutes at a time showing that the bounce rate is minimal. Thanks to Geoff for initiating this forum! This forum continues to be the shining achievement for 2013.

The cornerstone of our efforts has always been to hold gatherings for those interested in group prayer for Divine Love. Jeanne and I have sponsored biweekly groups in Gibsons; Barb & Terry on alternate Monday evenings in West Vancouver.

On every outreach trip, we have gathered groups together for this purpose. Most exceptional was our outreach in Ireland where our dear friend Tim O’Higgins organized several talks followed by prayers all over the county of Munster. These were so successful that we are returning in August 2014 to lead a 4 day retreat near the Cliffs of Mohr. We will participate in the Brisbane, Australia retreat in May as well as the 100th anniversary of James Padgett's receiving the Divine Love messages that is the foundation of our work. This will be in mid September next year in Washington D.C. .

The Divine Love Sanctuary Foundation is being noticed by many in our movement as a proactive and inclusive group that is not afraid to reach out to all factions in the Divine Love movement. Our goal continues to be as fence menders and facilitators for many individuals both inside Divine Love consciousness and outside of it. We continue to help facilitate love in action projects in Namibia and Uganda. Our goal is to infuse this consciousness in whatever endeavor we may choose to take on in the future. DLSF is definitely on a roll and as we are guided to engage with others from many parts of the world, we hope to further the awareness of Divine Love both in our lives and in the lives of others.

Congratulations to all those engaged in our foundation because in many ways you are making a difference in the world. May we all carry this goal forward in our future endeavors. God bless for now and thank you for your diligent work to bring more love into our world.

With great appreciation,
Al Fike.

The DLSF Board will host a strategic planning session on Sunday June 22 with Tim O'Higgins from WHC and Elizabeth Morano from FCNB. This promises to be an inspiring session as we engage in discussion about future collaborations in bringing light and love to the world!

Blessings to all, Jeanne Fike, Secretary
