News from the Board – January / June 2018

In a New Year’s message from Augustine early in January he said, “This will be a year like none other”! Perhaps that was an under-statement!
Here’s a brief summary:

• “The Circle of 7” or “Water Carriers” as Mother Mary referred to us emerged from a two month Divine Love intensive retreat devoted to our spiritual and soul development. Guided by a band of Celestial Angels including Jesus and his disciples, we were assigned a band of Angels to help us develop spiritual gifts intended to strengthen each one of us and our collective efforts to bring the Truths of God’s Divine Love to the world. The new year brought us to a level of greater soul awakening and commitment to do God’s Will – individually and collectively.

• We give thanks to a dedicated number of “earth angels” who pray with us for the development of these spiritual gifts for their tangible and powerful prayerful support. Theirs is a true gift to God, seeking no recognition…only healing and light for our troubled world. We are also motivated by a list of remarkable “Super Star Spirits” who have come to us saying they are praying earnestly for our success because they want to make their presence known and speak directly to mankind. Representing respected leaders, politicians, scientists, humanitarians, founders of world religions, musicians and entertainers – each of these “Super Star Spirits” made a tremendous impact while living on earth. They desire to bring higher teachings to the earth plane to help save mankind. Einstein, Tesla, Curie, John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln, Churchill, Huxley, Freud, Martin Luther, Yogananda, Mahareshi Mahesh Yoga, Chopin, Beethoven, Wagnar, Rock Hudson, Elizabeth Taylor, Mother Teresa and Princess Diana are amongst them. A visitor from another galaxy who first identified his desire to help mankind on earth in the 60’s, said “On our planet, we love strangers more than you love your own children”. He and others from his planet are eager to bring knowledge and assistance to the earth plane,

• Based on over 300 messages received about soul progression, the development of spiritual gifts including Physical Manifestation or “Direct Voice”, several publications are in the works. Due to sheer volume, it’s been challenging for our team of volunteers to keep up with the transcribing, editing and posting that is required. We are extremely grateful to volunteers living in far off places and to the wonders of the internet that make this work possible.

• We continued to host daily and weekly Divine Love Prayer Circles which we call “Circles of Light”. These beautiful circles continue to strengthen and grow in Gibsons, West Vancouver and at the First United Spiritualist Church in Burnaby. Efforts to pray simultaneously with others in Alberta, Germany, Wales, Reunion Island (Indian Ocean), Philippines, India, Florida, Washington DC, New York City, Michigan, Pennsylvania, California, Hawaii, Namibia, England and Australia also increased.

• Prayer requests continue to flow in on a daily basis, overflowing our Blessings Bowl to the extent we had a special beach fire blessing to offer up hundreds of written prayer requests to God. What a powerful ceremony it was!

• We continued to send out one channelled message every Sunday via our growing mail chimp network and were delighted to correspond with a network of people around the world who find comfort and inspiration from Jesus and Celestial Angels through this outreach effort.

• We continued to network with other Divine Love Ministers and welcomed Gemma Millar from Swansea, Wales into the fold. It is an honour to witness Gemma’s spiritual journey and to have sponsored her Ministerial Ordination through the Foundation of Divine Truth program.

• The renovation to our Garden Guest House was completed and furnished; the purpose of which is to provide affordable accommodation to spiritual seekers who are open to the prayer practise of praying for an inflowing of God’s Divine Love. Now a fully self-contained little house nestled in our garden with it’s own patio, the Garden Guest House can sleep up to 6 people.

• We continued to host day-long, multi-day and weekly retreats in both the main house and Garden Guest House, with visitors from the lower mainland in western Canada, Alberta and Bend, Oregon. We are grateful to host hard working and skilled volunteers for without them Al and I could not possibly keep up with the tasks required to maintain the activities of the Foundation and our Retreat Centre.

• We hosted Divine Love Retreats and Board Retreats for members of the First United Spiritualist Church that were well received as this beautiful little church in Burnaby continues to struggle and grow as a place of light in the city.

• We have been speaking at the First United Spiritualist Church each month for the past 2 years. These sermons are now posted live on the Divine Love Sanctuary Facebook page for anyone interested in listening to topics on soul awakening, Divine Love and spiritual progression….and to hear Al channel a message.

• We are also volunteering with the church board, providing organizational development consulting to strengthen their systems of accountability, fundraising and reporting requirements. We will join in celebration of their 100th Anniversary on June 23.

• We were delighted to welcome “Divine Love Radio” and Brooke Folk to the world wide network of Divine Love followers! We met Brooke, who lives in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania in our DLSF Website Community Forum who told us he was a “lurker” for about a year –checking us out until he decided we were the “real macoy” before introducing himself! A retired radio announcer, Brooke discovered Geoff Cutler’s website new-birth.net and immediately embraced the Truths of God’s Divine Love when he read the volumes of messages channelled by James Padgett. Since then Brooke has interviewed more than a dozen Divine Love followers on his radio show, with Al being interviewed 3 times and the two of us doing a show together. What a delightful character, with a wonderful, soothing, uplifting and humorous style!

• We interviewed for a book called “Mediums Amongst Us” by Cathalynn Labonte-Smith; she has already interviewed 4 mediums and we referred her to other mediums as well.

• Lively discussions in our Community Forum continued on a broad range topics, with the addition of Divine Love projects being posted by esteemed colleagues from around the world.

• In mid February we embarked on a 5 week Divine Love Tour to New York, Pennsylvania, Florida and Hawaii! We were hosted by old friends In Queens, N.Y., Homosassa Springs, Florida and Oahu, Hawaii…. and we were delighted to meet new friends in Manhattan and Monroeville (including Brooke Folk)! Approximately 75 people participated in workshops, weekend and week-long retreats. It was gratifying that people travelled all the way from Washington, D.C., New Jersey, Chicago and Michigan to pray with us! One woman I met sitting beside me on the flight from NYC to Tampa drove 3 hours to attend her first Divine Love Prayer Circle in Homosassa Springs, Florida! And 4 members of the spiritualist church in Burnaby travelled to Hawaii to participate in a week-long retreat. Several participants are now planning to come to Gibsons for Divine Love retreats and are continuing to correspond and pray with us simultaneously!

• We continue to participate with an enthusiastic network of facilitators who are developing workshops and presentations on a wide variety of topics. Long time Divine Love followers here in western Canada are delivering presentations at the First United Spiritualist Church and in the broader community. We are collecting and sharing a tool kit of ideas and resources to share with others who are facilitating Circles of Light.

• In September we will participate in the Divine Love Retreat hosted by Patricia Doyle in Phoenix, Arizona (September 9-12); as well we will be attending the AREI (After Life Research and Education Institute) Annual Meeting September 13-16, also in Phoenix.

• Our Fundraising efforts continue on behalf of Aids-orphaned children living in Namibia. We also welcome donations and volunteers to help us cover our administration and increasing overhead costs of maintaining DLSF.

• We plan to be home at our Divine Love Retreat Centre all summer, hosting personal and group retreats; we have visitors arriving from far off places every month to the end of the year… our Sanctuary is always open to spiritual seekers who would like to commune with Celestial Angels and join us in prayers for God’s Greatest Blessing of Divine Love!
