The March 2020 Divine Love Newsletter was sent out yesterday.

For those who are new to the community, this is a bi-monthly e-publication featuring news of various members of the Divine Love community, information and reports about group activities, upcoming events, such as retreats, as well as inspirational reading.

If you are not on the mailing list, but would like to read the Newsletter, it is downloadable from http://www.fcdt.org/community/ (User name: members; password: DivineLove) -- scroll to the bottom of the page. You can also download it from the Divine Love Sanctuary Foundation website under Newsletters.

If you would like to be placed on the mailing list to receive the Newsletter automatically by email, please request this by writing to "editors at fcdt dot org".

We hope that you enjoy this issue and welcome your comments. Contributions to future issues can be sent to the above email address. The deadline for the May 2020 issue is 20th of April. If submissions don't make it into the next issue, we'll hold them for a later edition.

Much love to you all,
Eva

Hello dear friends and past/potential newsletter contributors! :)

It is again time to start thinking about the next Divine Love newsletter -- for May 2020.

If you have any news in the form of a project update, special or regular prayer circle or discussion group, an inspiring experience, a special event that you participated in, a new project or ministry, a new Divine Love book you have published (or an updated version of your book), or an inspiring article about something that could benefit others, or anything else you believe would be suitable, feel free to submit it for our consideration by April 20. Even if it doesn't make it into the next issue, we'll hold it over. Please send your submissions to editors(at)fcdt.org.

If you are new to the forum/community/Facebook group and would like to receive the newsletter, please send your request to the above address. Past issues can be downloaded from the DLSF or FCDT websites.

Thank you all for your support.
Love,
Eva

Dear newsletter contributors,

With changes in the community and the resultant evolution of the newsletter, it has become necessary for Michael and me to do a bit of a re-evaluation of its direction. We have decided on the following:

1. We will continue to include items from all the various groups within the community – FCDT, FCNB, DLSF, LITA and CSNS, as well as from any unaffiliated members.

2. However, we will keep all announcements of present or future happenings to a bare-bones gist (2-3 lines / 50-60 words). If you’d like to give the readers more details about your upcoming retreat, fund-raising event, new program, resources you’re offering, etc., feel free to have a more detailed write-up on your website or the DLSF forum and we’ll be happy to link to it.

3. We want to avoid unnecessary duplication, as well as too much repetition, of announcements, but rather would like to focus on publishing your and others’ contributions of spiritual nature, such as spiritual articles, inspiring stories and retreat highlights.

4. Below is a brief description of the sections we will feature as far as announcements are concerned, with a brief description of each.

Community News

This can include new programs or Zoom groups, significant one-of happenings, etc. The contributor will be responsible for their write-up and the newsletter will only contain a 2-3 lines / 50-60 words summary with a link to more details, if supplied.

Member News

This will be kept in its present format.

Upcoming Events

This can include things like future retreats or other upcoming activities. It will be published only once unless the sponsor personally requests a repeat in the next issue. Again, only a 2-3 lines summary will be included with a link to more details, if supplied.

Praying, Sharing and Support across the Miles

This will only include groups that are presently active. A 2-3 lines/50-60 word summary with contact details and/or a link to more details will be included for non-DLSF activities. For all of DLSF activities, readers will be directed to the DLSF website.

Divine Love Resources

Again, a brief description only will be included with a link, if supplied.

Help Needed

This section will be discontinued. If you’d like help from members of the community, feel free to post your need on the DLSF forum under Divine Love Projects. Alternatively, you can make it known via one of the several community mailing lists.

5. I will no longer send out a group email 2-3 weeks before the submission deadline reminding contributors to check their entries from the previous issue or ask if they still wish to have certain items included. Please make it your responsibility to submit or communicate about contributions in the form of announcements or articles/stories. To quote Jeanne, “red circle on your calendars” the 20th of every even month as a newsletter submission deadline. Of course, you can contact me at any time prior to that with a submission or any newsletter related communication.

We hope that these changes will make the newsletter a more inspiring publication for its readership. We still welcome your contributions of articles or stories, as well as your news and announcements. However, please keep your announcements very brief and to the point and if you’d like, provide a link where readers can go for more details. For stories and articles, a maximum length should not be much over 1500 words.

Please feel free to respond to this email with any questions, ideas or suggestions.

Love and blessings,
Eva and Michael

Hello dear friends and past/potential Divine Love Newsletter contributors! :)

It is again time to start thinking about the next newsletter -- for July 2021 -- which will be our 40th issue.

If you have any news in the form of a project update, special or regular prayer circle or discussion group, an inspiring experience, a special event that you participated in, a new project or ministry, a new Divine Love book you have published (or an updated version of your book), or an inspiring article about something that could benefit others, or anything else you believe would be suitable, feel free to submit it for our consideration by June 20. Even if it doesn't make it into the next issue, we'll hold it over. Please send your submissions to editors(at)fcdt.org.

Recently someone asked me for guidelines relating to newsletter submissions, so I thought others might also be interested.

1. Feel free to submit any news in the form of a project update, special or regular prayer circle or discussion group, an inspiring experience, a special event that you participated in, a new project or ministry, a new Divine Love book you have published (or an updated version of your book), an inspiring article about something that could benefit others, a poem, or anything else you believe would be suitable.

2. There is no minimal number of words, but it shouldn't be much over 1500 as a maximum.

3. It is nice if contributors can supply a picture with their article or poem.

4. The deadline is the 20th of the month prior to publication, i.e., February 20, April 20, June 20, August 20, October 20, December 20. Articles can of course be submitted well ahead of the deadline. Send your submissions for consideration to editors(at)fcdt.org.

5. I go over all submissions and suggest edits for better flow if needed, without changing the author's style or meaning. I always seek the author's approval of my edits before the piece is published.

6. I ask that once an article is submitted, no new or revised versions are submitted till after I get back with the author. Then, any changes should be made on the edited version. Once the author and myself have agreed on the final version, no other revisions should be made by the author, unless they involve change of facts.

7. If an article is poorly written and needs a lot of work, I will suggest to the author what I feel needs to be done and they can always re-submit at their discretion. I will not comply with requests for rewriting / writing up into a coherent form of some vague ideas that a person wants to have published.

8. I cannot guarantee that an article will make it into the next issue -- but if suitable and reasonably well written, it will eventually be published.

9. We have tried for the newsletter not to be too long so it is inviting to read and not overwhelming. If there are a lot of submissions, we’ll prefer those with a time element and hold the others for future issues.

10. It is the responsibility of each contributor to submit their item on time. I will not inquire or remind people about a promised item not submitted by the deadline.

If you are new to the forum/community/Facebook group and would like to receive the newsletter, please send your request to the above email address. Past issues can be downloaded from the DLSF or FCDT websites.

Thank you all for your support.
Love,
Eva
