I hope that Reincarnation is indeed an illusion.

Post by Daniel38 »

Yesterday I began reading Is Reincarnation An Illusion, and I am half through it. I would like to recount how I came to be interested and believe in reincarnation, although the prospect of coming back down here, again and again, is particularly unpleasant to me.

I began reading about spirituality when I was 18-20 years old. Mainly about yoga and Astral projection. But a few years later this had led me nowhere, and due to my life being unsatisfactory, I decided to "ditch all these superstitions" and "turn toward something serious and respectable." So I began a psychotherapy and read a lot of books on psychology. And so I got used to go to a large library, something like once per week. For years. Until something strange happened to me. In this library there were the shelves about psychology, that I was used to peruse; then in front of them, a table some two yards long covered with other books; and after that, facing the psychology book-shelves, there were those about esotericism and such. I never got to the latter, since I had decided this was all but superstition. Until that memorable day... I was searching for a new book I could be interested in, on the psychology booshelves. And suddenly, I found myself in front of the esotericism shelf, with a book on reincarnation in hand. This happened instantly. I hadn't (and never got) any memory of the short moment between the two (to walk the three meters/yards to the other side, and pulling the reincarnation book). A sequence of events was missing. I couldn't understand what I was doing there, with this "stupid" book in hand. I looked around me, afraid that someone could be watching me, seeing a total idiot reading such kind of superstition. So I quickly put the book back on the shelf, and went back to the psychology shelf again. I quickly forgot the incident, until a short moment later... when it happened once again ! Same event, same book, and same response from me! Wow, what was that ? But once returned to the psychology books, I began again to search when... It happened for the third time! And with still the same book (on reincarnation, by french author Patrick Drouot). At that moment, I thought that I should maybe pay attention and buy (and read) this book.

And thus began a 30 years of reading books, searching for the meaning of life, joining a meditation group, going to other psychotherapy as well, etc. So regarding reincarnation, you can guess I did read a lot. Including of course Ian Stevenson and Brian Weiss, plus Helen Wambach who mass-regressed people and made statistics, but much more interesting to me "Life Between Lives" by Michael Newton, and then also channeling such as the Michael's Teachings. There is also the renown brasilian medium Chico Xavier who believed in reincarnation. Besides, my favorite astral explorer Jurgen Ziewe hints at reincarnation being a reality. Lastly, John V. Pannella who wrote the (very interesting to me) Divine Garden series about the bible's true and false teachings (his PDF books were free, but recently his website disappeared, maybe Panella died).

But I not only read books, as I also had personnal experiences of "former lives." Especially one of abject poverty and starving, that spontaneously came back into my consciousness, thrice.

But I began to read here and there (beginning with Antony Borgia) that there is no such thing as reincarnation. And lastly, Is Reincarnation An Illusion on the subject.

Here I would like to add something that is not mentioned in this last book (maybe in the second part? I will see): All reincarnation books that I have read claim that almost everybody alive today has had past lives, and that on average, a person has had dozens if not hundreds of past lives. Mmmmmh... Mmmmmh... I have made a calculation : there are right now 7 billions people on this planet. Then, according to specialists, there have been 100 billions homo-sapiens-sapiens who lived on Earth, since they appeared. So, after a simple arithmetic: the mathematical limit is that every human being would have had, on average, no more than one dozen incarnations, certainly not "hundreds"...

Hence, if in the end, it appears that no such thing as reincarnation (back again in this mess), does exist, for me IT'S A RELIEF !!! But right now, intellectually, I just don't know. I really hope you are true, and that I will never come back into this degenerating, human civilization.

Dear Daniel,

As you probably know, I wrote that book. And I also had a belief in reincarnation prior to finding the Padgett messages. It really challenged me. But I decided that I would put that issue in a "file" and carry on, assuming that the universe would resolve it for me. As it has. I recently rewrote that book, but I have not (naughty me) yet updated some ebooks so I wonder what format you are reading? Please let me know as I changed it a lot.

I am really astounded by the psychic things that have happened to you. I feel strongly you are perhaps sitting on an untapped psychic gold mine?

Take care and have a great New Year.

I did read a PDF file.

If you updated your book, my humble suggestion would be to add a few lines about the mathematical inconsistency regarding the usually accepted numbers of past lives. That is: currently 7 billions people, and 100 billions of humans to have ever lived. If supposedly every human beings on this planet has had dozens if not hundreds of past lives (as Michael Newton claims, for example, but he is not alone in this), there is a problem, because on average, everybody could have only one dozen incarnations, no more.

And now what about this : imagine that when a soul is incarnated, it comes with an unconscious array of past lives, which he/she didn't live, but are borrowed memories that will help create a new and unique personality. Once dead, the soul continues in spirit world only, but the mortal life lived, will thereafter be implemented to another newly incarnated soul, to help create their own personality. Hence, when in regression, that could explain the reliving of past-lives. We were indeed those persons, though in reality we didn't. Like with our DNA, coming from a vast number of ancestors, though we are but a new person, not them.

Regarding the gold mine : I have had many interesting experiences, but often of a one-time-only nature. I have been unable to devellop any psychic skill (though I didn't try hard, anyway). I will tell you this one, which I thought was related to a past-life (but that might just be a spirit attachment):

Maybe 25 years ago. I was in a train, calmly waiting to reach the train-station. I wasn't thinking about anything specifically. I think I might have been put into a light trance by the evenly spaced posts along the railroad, that I watched without interest (don't know how to explain it better in english). Anyway, here is what happened. It wasn't a vision in my mind, while I would be conscious of sitting in the train. It was like if watching TV, I had just changed channel. And so, me and the memory of me had entirely disappeared. Next moment, my consciousness was inside an older man (40 years old instead of early 30s), of dark skin color, a poor man with zero possessions apart a small vestment (typical of India) and a bowl. This man was walking along a trail, with an extreme serenity and peacefulness. This man, whom I was at that moment, had no knowledge of the me I was in the train. Duration: I guess 30-60 seconds. Then back to the normal me. What I learned from this experience : having this very small event to compare with my normal life, I understood that until then, I had never been happy. At best I had been in a neutral mood, but never happy. That other person was not particularly joyous, only extremely serene and peaceful. I now know at 60, that what I really want is peace of mind.

Dear Daniel,

I am aware of this, but I am also aware the Earth has had several very serious failures of civilisation. Much of this information has come from Space Brothers and Sisters, and we do not intend to publish it, for reasons I do not wish to engage in. But that being the case it's much harder for me to sustain any estimate of how long we have existed and how many people have lived. As an example Atlantis decided to wage war on China - who were on the opposite side of the globe. The Atlantean people - a portion there of - had become very war like and had learned to create a modified human race to use as slaves, and were engaged in getting a marine animal - probably dolphins - to similarly work for them as a modified slave creature. They used Crystal Energy focussed directly through the centre of the Earth to attack China. I have no idea what happened on the Chinese end, but on the Atlantis side the crystal blew up and destroyed all of Atlantis. This indicates they had enormous technology, even way beyond us today, yet were "too smart for their own boots." Like us. I don't have a good estimate of the size of Atlantis, but broadly it stretched from the US/Canadian sea border to Africa/Europe. So a continent rather than an island, I surmise. In Noah's time a great many people perished. Also an Earth Change event, so that was another resetting of the clock.

Indeed it does not surprise me. You dropped the veil and accessed the 3D memories of a spirit probably intent on teaching you to find a calmer better place in your life. I dont suggest you rush out now and try to develop this. But bear in mind that as your soul grows with the Divine Love, these gifts will strengthen. Plus others will emerge. This may take 10 years, but it will happen. The real trick is to have enough soul development that it is Celestials you contact, not those living in the Spirit Spheres.

You are right, I must be cautious. I remember having read The Siren call of Hungry Ghosts* that made a strong effect on me. Basically, a journalist was involved in a channelling group, where they spoke to various spirit guides and such, through a person who was hypnotized. But the journalist did his investigative work of going further in seach of the truth, and eventually discovered they were speaking to earthbound spirits and others one may not want to deal with. For that reason, I myself won't try to contact any spirit at all. And when asking for God's Love and Blessing, well, I ask (for what is worth my asking) to only get answers from the most High, from Celestial realms only.

Yeas there are worse stories, well not stories, real tales in "30 Years amongst the dead".

Ok, I have almost finished reading Is Reincarnation An Illusion. I read this p.179 (in the third to sixth line). I boldfaced what seems strange to me, maybe an error?
And the mind has free will – the ability to act out of love. The soul has will, but it never acts out of love.

No its no error. The soul basically does not do anything unloving. So that removes the 'free" from the definition. See this message which is not the only one on this topic

Will and Free Will
