Dear Friends,
I received this from a friend the other day and found myself inspired by what I read - another flicker of light as to how simply life and our relations are truly meant to be "lived in the moments". Challenged we are to remember this and keep it in the forefront of our on goings .... So I share it with you, here .... spreading love to each of you and a great reminder to myself ~
With love, Maureen
A man died...
When he realized it, he saw God coming closer with a suitcase in his hand.
Dialog between God and Dead Man:
God: *Alright son, it’s time to go*
Man: So soon? I had a lot of plans...
God: *I am sorry but, it’s time to go*
Man: What do you have in that suitcase?
God: *Your belongings*
Man: My belongings? You mean my things... Clothes... money...
God; *Those things were never yours, they belong to the Earth*
Man: Is it my memories?
God: *No. They belong to Time*
Man: Is it my talent?
God: *No. They belong to Circumstance*
Man: Is it my friends and family?
God: *No son. They belong to the Path you travelled*
Man: Is it my wife and children?
God: *No. they belong to your Heart*
Man: Then it must be my body
God: *No No... It belongs to Dust*
Man: Then surely it must be my Soul!
God: *You are sadly mistaken son. Your Soul belongs to me.*
Man with tears in his eyes and full of fear took the suitcase from the God's hand and opened it...
Empty...
Heartbroken and tears down his cheeks he asks God...
Man: I never owned anything?
God: *That’s Right. You never owned anything*.
Man: Then what was mine?
God: your *MOMENTS*.
Every moment you lived was *yours*.
Do Good in every moment
Think Good in every moment
Thank God for every moment
Life is just a Moment.
Live it...
Love it...
Enjoy it.

Very profound indeed. It goes by so quickly. May we mine every ounce of potential in that moment. Thanks for this Maureen.....Al
Endless journey,endless Love.

Thanks Maureen for sharing that. It has much food for thought and is an important reminder for all of us about how short our life on earth is, how fast it goes, and how uncertain -- not even tomorrow is guaranteed!
My husband recently wrote a "birthday poem" for his brother who turned 64 the other day (I edited it for him in a combined effort) which contains related thoughts, so I thought I'd share it. (Carpe Diem is from Latin meaning to seize the moment, make the most of the present.)
Let it be a special day,
Filled with joy along the way.
A singer sang the words, “Oh, my,
Just how quickly the time does fly!”
Amazing! You’re now sixty-four!
End of life is slowly at the door.
The Bible mentions “threescore and ten”,
But much can happen before then!
One never knows, the poet wrote with insistence,
“Tomorrow here, or in your next existence!”
No-one can tell which it will be,
So readiness is behoved of you and me.
“Carpe Diem” I’ve heard the wise men say;
Better advice has not come my way!
So in the present, give your life the best;
Then in the hereafter you’ll surely be blessed!
May each day add to a wonderful year!
Take what comes with no undue fear.
We wish you happiness in your life now,
And we’ll end these lines with a “ciao”!
Love,
Eva
